Portions of the following information were taken from Florida Geological Survey Bulletin 31.

Baptizing Spring is about 2.5 mi NE. of Luraville and north of the Suwannee River. Drive east from Luraville about 2 mi, turn north onto a sand road and go 0.4 mi to a 5-way dirt road intersection, turn sharply west and drive 0.3 mi; the spring is about 20 ft W. of the road.

Description - Baptizing Spring is overgrown with brush, weeds, and small trees. The water was black and there was no flow in September 1974. The pool is shallow and its limits difficult to define.
